WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy Reportedly Fired From Tour After Incident During Match

WWE Superstars haven’t had the best year in terms of company releases and drama on the front page, and it looks like another popular superstar is making headlines after a disturbing incident. WWE has reportedly fired veteran Jeff Hardy from his current tour after a disturbing incident during a match at a recent live event.

WWE performed in Edinburg, TX on Saturday, December 4, and featured a game in which Xavier Woods, Drew McIntyre and Jeff Hardy were in a three-way match against Roman Reigns and the Usos. Hardy reportedly appeared slow upon entering, and this behavior continued throughout the game. Footage from the event showed Hardy slowly moving around the ring and falling in a way that felt unnatural and out of sync with the usual appearance he gives to fans.

Jeff Hardy did eventually come out of the ring, but what happened after him seemed even more bizarre. Hardy jumped the barricade and pushed his way through the audience, and security quickly followed. Check out the video of the moment, which occurs around 10:50 a.m.

PWInsider.com later reported that WWE sent Jeff Hardy home after the incident and that Hardy was not present at the following night’s performance in Corpus Christi, TX. Rey Mysterio intervened at Hardy’s for the game the next night.

It is not known what happened with Jeff Hardy, but clearly the wrestling community is concerned for his well-being. Hardy has publicly admitted his past struggles with alcoholism, and he recently confirmed (via Broken Skull Sessions) his last WWE outing in 2003 was in part due to drug addiction and refusal to go to rehab. Again, it’s unclear if any of these incidents involve something of this nature, but given the star’s odd demeanor and openness in terms of talking about her past, it’s worth mentioning.

Jeff Hardy has entered and exited WWE a few times but has been with the company in this last relay since 2017. He is still very popular with fans, even currently where it occurs without working in the same organization like his brother, Matt Hardy.

Jeff Hardy is considered one of the greats in the wrestling industry, so it’s hard to imagine the fans’ love for him will ever wear off, but with his unexpected absence there are questions about his future in WWE. In a year when around 80 superstars were sent to pack when it comes to budget cuts, you have to ask yourself: if Hardy is having trouble, how will WWE react? We can only wait and see, and of course, hope for the best for Hardy, whatever the circumstances.

Monday evening gross airs in the United States on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, and Smack down airs on Fox at the same time on Fridays. Hopefully we will see Jeff Hardy again soon and can see this incident as a simple one. weird bump in the road in an otherwise excellent race for the wrestler.
