The quiet life of George Clooney in Sonning where he often enjoys a pint at his local

Berkshire is synonymous with stunning views, forests and rich history. The affluent county is right on the doorstep of London, just 45 minutes by train from the city.

It’s no surprise, then, that Berkshire has become a hotspot where celebrities move in to enjoy a quiet life out of the spotlight. Those who live in the county have potentially found themselves on occasion meeting Eddie Redmayne, Kate Winslet and maybe even Kate Middleton.

Berkshire is home to sports stars, musicians and some of the world’s biggest movie icons. There’s just something in the air that celebrities find alluring in the area.

Another high-profile actor who calls Berkshire home is George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. The couple own a house on the River Thames surrounded by stunning scenery.

The celebrity couple moved to Sonning in 2016 to a Grade II listed house. The property would have a 12-seat home cinema and a swimming pool.

The actor who starred in countless films such as Gravity , Monuments Men and silver monster can often be seen grabbing a pint at his local. Clooney talked about The Bull Inn a while back on a chat show.

Talk on BBC’1s Graham Norton Show, George Clooney said: “There’s a great pub we go to. It’s fantastic and we drink all kinds of pints and stuff.”

George Clooney isn’t the only one to recognize Sonning’s beauty. Guitarist Jimmy Page, founder of Led Zepplin also lives there and former Prime Minister Theresa May.
