CUMBRIAN presenter Helen Skelton has returned home to the lakes to prepare for a big week ahead on Strictly.
The Strictly Come Dancing star traveled to his home county with his dance partner Gorka, as they prepared for the iconic Strictly Come Dancing movie night taking place this weekend, Saturday October 8.
As part of the preparations, the couple visited the Lake District’s iconic cinema, the Alhambra in Keswick, to attend a very special screening of Grease. Following the announcement, the pair will dance the Viennese Waltz to “Hopelessly Devoted To You” from the iconic film.
Well-regarded cinema director Jonathan Moore said the Alhambra was delighted to welcome its special guests.
Mr Moore was particularly impressed with the attention to detail the couple brought to their performance – which they are set to perform as a tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John.
Speaking of the Strictly stars’ visit, Mr Moore said: “They’re actually very nice, first of all they’re very professional.

“Movie night is one of Strictly’s signature big nights, and they dance to Grease’s Hopelessly Devoted To You – and obviously Olivia Newton John passed away this year.
“It was really interesting to watch them, because they wanted to see the movie on the big screen and really wanted to think about it and capture it as a tribute.
“They just wanted to watch that scene multiple times, to capture that moment, it was really interesting to see them talk about what was so iconic and why it was important, and how it was expressed – like massive amounts of detail in order to find how to interpret it, it was very touching.

“It was really nice having them, the chemistry between them was really lovely, it was really fun having them – it was fun for us and I think they had a great time too.”
The cinema was ‘sworn to secrecy’ about the visit until the BBC released a tweet talking about the couple’s Film Week performance today.
Everyone at the Keswick Alhambra wishes the pair well for tomorrow night.
