Shure introduces Aonic 215 True wireless headphones, the company’s second iteration

Shure has upgraded its Aonic 215s, the company’s first true wireless headphones, giving them a host of new features.

Then an equalizer. You can choose from preset modes or fine-tune the sound by creating your own custom EQ and loading it through the ShurePlus Play app.

First of all, they are now both sweat and water resistant. The IPX4 rating means they can survive splashed water, so they should have no problem surviving the elements or a sweaty workout.

Hands-free calling is now available in stereo, or you can choose to listen only through the left or right earpiece. Your voice should also be clearer, thanks to the inclusion of four beamforming microphones.

Finally, they automatically turn on when taken out of the case, so you don’t have to press a power button.

They now have volume controls on the buttons and a mute button and you can customize all the button functions in the app to suit your needs.

Other than that, they’re identical to the original Aonic 215, with the same detachable wireless module (so they can function as wireless or wired headphones) and identical total battery life of 32 hours. They are now available in black or blue for £ 209, while the True Wireless Secure Fit (Gen 2) adapter can be purchased separately for £ 169.
