Mobile Fidelity Electronics (or MoFi) has teamed up with famous guitar maker Fender to bring the world a limited edition turntable – the Fender x MoFi PrecisionDeck.
There will only be 1000 units produced, each plate being individually numbered and badged. This limited edition model is expected to be available from October in the US and Australia, priced at $ 3,495 / AU $ 5,999 (approx £ 3,000) with UK availability yet to be announced.
As can be seen in the pictures, this PrecisionDeck features Fender’s signature Sunburst coloring, with the black edges gradually giving way to a rich red-orange and then yellow.
The latter two of these colors showcase the remarkable grain of the Marsh Ash wood underneath – the same material used in the production of Fender’s timeless Precision Bass (hence the title PrecisionDeck).
The shape of the turntable was designed by Yuriy Shishkov, the main builder at Fender Custom Shop, and the wood is sourced, milled, shaped and painted by Fender USA.
It is then sent to MoFi’s plant in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where the components are assembled, installed, tested and configured. The PrecisionDeck features MoFi’s UltraDeck technology and comes pre-assembled with the MoFi MasterTracker mic, so it’s ready to play right out of the box.
